Registration opens April 6, 2026.
Join us for a weekend-long hackathon to create a live performance, an immersive experience, or an interactive system using AI as a creative medium. Creators, builders, storytellers, and engineers from any background are welcome.

In interdisciplinary teams, you will build, stage, and share bold prototypes that push the boundaries of storytelling. Teams will receive mentorship from creative technology trailblazers Scarlett Kim, SudoMagic, and Elburz Sorkhabi, support from TFT faculty including Professor Jeff Burke and AI Fellow Devon Baur, and access to cutting-edge resources including The Interactive & Immersive HQ and TouchDesigner

Teams will present at the AI + Live Arts Summit on May 8 at the UCLA Nimoy Theater, hosted by UCLA TFT with DataX and the Center for the Art of Performance.

A panel of distinguished guest judges will award prizes to winning teams. You’ll leave with a standout portfolio project, hands-on experience with emerging technologies, and meaningful connections with professionals shaping the future of storytelling.
Register as individuals or as a team (3 to 5 members) by April 17. Individual applicants will be matched into interdisciplinary teams. Selected teams will be notified by April 22.
